Beetroot Boost Juice

For all of us that try to eat the rainbow beetroot is a great vegetable.  It is even better when juiced, add to that apples for sweetness and ginger for zing and you have the perfect wake-me-up juice.

This juice is particularly good for pregnancy, beetroot is a good source of folate (a naturally occurring folic acid), it is thought to help reduce blood pressure, which is always helpful in pregnancy.  Ginger has many health benefits, but those of particular interest to pregnant women is its ability to help with nausea, a common side effect of pregnancy.  Finally turmeric, the wonder food that everyone is talking about, helps reduce inflammation and is a natural antioxidant.

Ingredients – makes 2 glasses

  • 3 beetroot
  • 2 apples
  • 1 stick celery
  • 1 inch turmeric
  • 2 inch ginger


All juicers are slightly different so follow your machines guides for preparation.  This should make two large glasses of deep purple coloured juice dependent on the amount of juice you get from your fruits (this depends on your machine and the fruit/veg you are using)  If you need to top up the quantities, or dilute the juice then I use either Coconut Water, or just regular tap water.
